What is a questionnaire?
A questionnaire can be described as a list of a research or survey questions asked to respondents, and designed to extract specific information. It serves four basic purposes, to:
(1) Collect the appropriate data
(2) make data comparable and amenable to analysis
(3) Minimize bias in formulating and asking question
(4) To make questions engaging and varied.
RESEARCH ON MAKING QUESTIONNAIRE
After gaining the understanding of what questionnaires exactly were, finally came the time when I had to make them, that is where real work started, I visited few websites to learn how to make effective questionnaires.
Even after reading through several websites I knew something was still lacking some information so I started to look for some example questionnaires because I wanted the survey to be as near to perfect as it could get. Although the questionnaires were not close to the survey I had to perform but now I finally knew what I had to ask in order to maintain the questions simple so that each individual can easily understand and answer accordingly.
After getting an idea of how the questions should be delivered I made a rough sketch
Next, i made a questionnaire through Microsoft word, I was aware of the fonts few other things that were required to type the questionnaire.
Afterwards I was able to make my questionnaire look sophisticated. This is how it looked before I printed it to get it filled by the respondents.
I got the idea to use google forms, I inserted all my questions there and ended up making an online form. I sent the link to few people, and the link circulated more than I expected it to, I started getting responses more efficiently. Here are the screenshots from the google form I created.
Then was time for the results, so my forum got around 39 answers.
In conclusion, most of the people that filled up the form rarely read magazines, although when they do, they are clearly biased towards Fashion and TV magazines.
